Volunteer Canada is the national voice for volunteerism in Canada. Since 1977, Volunteer Canada has been committed to supporting volunteerism and civic participation through ongoing programs and special events. They focus on providing assistance to provincial/territorial volunteer centers. For more information: www.volunteer.ca
Imagine Canada initiates research that puts the nonprofit sector on the map and raises our profile in the minds of Canadians. The recently launched Sector Monitor will provide both a voice and a perspective for nonprofits across Canada. The inaugural issue presents the results of a survey that examines how nonprofits are dealing with increasingly difficult economic circumstances. Imagine Canada shapes public policy and builds support, encouraging collaboration and engagement from businesses, government and individuals. Imagine Canada also delivers tools, resources and networking opportunities directly to nonprofits and charities to build and strengthen the sector one organization at a time. HR Council for the Voluntary and Non-profit Sector is the premier source of information, tools and research related to human resources in the nonprofit sector. The HR Council is also a forum for dialogue and action on labour force and workplace issues in the nonprofit sector. For more information: www.hrcouncil.ca
Volunteer Yukon can provide partial travel subsidies for up to 10 participants from the communities (maximum of two people from the same community), on a first-come, first-served basis. Please let us know asap if you would like to apply for a subsidy. Reimbursements will be mailed after the event, upon receipt of travel claims. This event is open to everyone, but travel subsidies will be allocated only to individuals affiliated with the non-profit sector (i.e., a volunteer board/council/ committee member, or a staff member who works for an NGO). We ask that participants who receive travel subsidies make a special effort to attend the AGM.
